Product Creation: 3 Major Types of Info Products

But before you set out to create your first info product, it's important to learn the different types of information products you can create.
Ebooks
Ebooks are probably the most common type of information product. They are certainly the type most of us familiar with. Ebooks are the first thing to spring to mind when most online entrepreneurs start thinking about product creation.
An ebook is a digital book that contains information. Hopefully information someone would be willing to pay for. An ebook (or short report) can be as short as five pages long, or can cover several hundred pages.
One of the advantages of an ebook is that you can make them available to your customers for immediate download.
Audio Information Product Creation
With an audio information product, you take the information you want to impart to you audience, and record it by reading it aloud into some kind of recording device. (Or having someone else do it for you if you don't like the sound of your own voice.) Then your customers can either download the audio files from the internet (as an MP3 file, for example), or you can send it to them in a physical form (on CD).
Audio information products have a higher perceived value. This is largely because many people are able to absorb information better when it's read aloud and explained to them than by reading it themselves. So if you have an ebook and a CD that contained the exact same information, many people would pay more for the CD.
Video Information Product Creation
Like audio information products, video information products often have a higher perceived value than ebooks and short reports. So if you were to create a video in which you explained the information you wanted to share, or which showed you putting that information into action, you could charge a little more for your efforts. In fact, in many cases, creating an audio or video recording is faster and takes less effort than writing an ebook.
How would you deliver a video info product to your customers? Well, the easiest way would be to make them available online for immediate download. But you could also send the videos to your customers as video cassettes or DVDs.
When it comes to info product creation, you have several options. Ebooks are a great place to start. But if you want to see an even greater return on your time and effort, audio and video info product might be the way to go.
